Nixos/howdy: Incompatible With Polkit-127

Is nixos a good fit if you install a bunch of random software. I was interested in trying nixos but i found it quite difficult to set up. Aug 23, 2023nixos is definitely good but not for newbies.

It takes no more effort to install a nixos distro than any other distro but figuring out how to add packages via the configuration.nix file and do. Nixos is a unique challenge for sure. Not to mention my nerd acquaintance keeps telling me to install nixos when i tell them i want to try some tiling window managers, usually people tell me to try.

Nixos can be simple & the most wonderful linux distribution to use, or it can be the most frustrating & difficult linux distribution to use. Although nixos is not necessarily hard.. Aug 26, 2023today i discovered nixos and it seems great.

I'm aware of the differences between nixos, nix as a package manager, and the nix programming language. Nixos is well energy-optimized and lacks many of the "childhood diseases" of most linux distributions.
